September 2016 saw me collaborating with Burberry's in house team again - tasked with editing and onlining a series of promotional videos for their upcoming show. In a fashion first, Burberry consolidated both their womenswear and menswear collections into one big show, and in many ways this meant we had to double our efforts.
As well as editing together a few pre-show trailers, our biggest challenge was on the night itself. Set up in the show space was an interactive photo booth, where VIP guests were invited to enter and have specially made video portraits made for them - which we turned around in record time to get onto various social channels, such as Instagram and Twitter. It was quite a technical challenge which I had to lead - we had a set up right by the booth, with a DIT collecting and backing up cards, whilst at the same time sending the rushes straight to my mobile edit station. I received Log-C footage, and edited on the fly in Premiere, before adding a ready-made LUT at the end (created in advance by the DIT) and exporting for the relevant channels.
Despite the sheer number of guests entering the booth, and having to get ultimate sign off from the art directors at Burberry, I still managed to get a number of edits out on the night, while keeping (relatively!) calm...!
